Kanpur Institute of Technology (KIT) is shouldering the monumental responsibility of producing capable technocrats and managers. This case study explains how Youth4work helped KIT to test and enhance the skills of their students at different levels of their educational years.

Introduction

KIT is a well-known and reputed institution that offer various professional courses. KIT polishes and builds the personality of their students in a such a way that every individual candidate secures their place in leading organizations. With time, several changes in the education system of India, KIT feels that only academic knowledge is not sufficient for the students to excel in professional fields.

KIT feels that students should be judged after a particular period of time in order to revise and to improve their skills. Skills are the key requirement to stand out in the competitive market. Other than the knowledge of the course, a candidate must possess confidence, interactive skills and ability to rise up to the occasion to handle challenges. Years of dedication along with hard work are responsible to prepare a student for the future.

Measures adopted by KIT

After identifying loopholes in the current system, KIT decided to conduct online tests, monthly and quarterly, to enhance the inner talents of their students and to keep an updated record of their performances.

They decided to organize the following tests:

Communication test and Aptitude test for first-year students.
Core subject test, communication skill test and aptitude test for second-year students.
Higher English, Maths and core subject test for third-year students.
Core subject test and placement papers for final year students.

The reports of these test could help KIT to find talented people easily and to understand how to train each individual student.

The Problem

It was not possible for KIT to provide a platform to the students where they could attempt tests of varying nature, that too, on a regular basis. Plus, not to mention the time and effort needed to set new questions and to evaluate these test papers.

Organizing tests in offline mode would be more time consuming and increase paperwork of the faculty.

KIT needed an online platform that could help their students to access the tests and that could also help them manage their time more efficiently.
